Nutrisco renews BRCGS certification

Nutrisco renews BRCGS certification with AA grade for its Fruits and Vegetables plant in Romeral

The certification, which the plant has maintained since 2013, recognizes compliance with high standards in food safety, quality, traceability and food security.

Nutrisco renewed its BRCGS (Brand Reputation Compliance Global Standards) certification for its Fruits and Vegetables processing plant located in Romeral, obtaining an AA grade following the audit carried out between April 13 and 15, 2026.

The assessment covered all of the plant’s production lines, including frozen fruits, purées, frozen fruit juices and retail products, both single-product formats and different types of mixes. During the process, the 328 clauses of the BRCGS version 9 standard were reviewed, along with its 12 fundamental requirements.

Víctor Jiménez, Food Safety and Certifications Deputy Manager at Nutrisco, highlighted that maintaining this certification is key to the company’s operations and positioning within the food industry.

“BRCGS is one of the standards recognized by GFSI and represents a fundamental requirement for selling to major supermarket chains around the world. For Nutrisco, renewing this certification means continuing to demonstrate that we operate under strict standards of hygiene, food safety, quality and traceability,” he said.

Trust, traceability and international projection

BRCGS certification allows Nutrisco to provide customers with assurance regarding the safety, authenticity and consistent quality of the products it manufactures. It also helps ensure process traceability and strengthen the confidence of both national and international customers.

The process was led by the Food Safety and Certifications team, together with the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) team, as part of a preparation process that reflects the ongoing work carried out by the different areas of the Fruits and Vegetables business unit.

These types of certifications contribute to operational efficiency by standardizing processes, strengthening traceability and enabling the early detection of potential deviations before products reach their destination.

The Romeral plant has maintained this certification since 2013, consolidating more than a decade of experience operating under international food safety standards. With this renewal, Nutrisco reinforces its commitment to quality, food safety, nutrition and innovation, driving reliable food solutions for different markets.
