Upcycling Project
for a Sustainable Future
We signed the declaration of support for the Upcycling Project, an alliance for a world without food loss and waste. This initiative, led by the Universidad del Desarrollo, aims to transform the losses and waste generated by the national agri-food sector into valuable resources.
This initiative aligns with the efforts of Chile’s National Strategy on Food Loss and Waste, led by the Ministry of the Environment.

Foods For Future
In our Fruits and Vegetables business unit, we signed an agreement with the startup Food for Future (F4F), which will allow us to transform approximately 500 tons of organic berry waste annually into compost and protein in the form of meal for feeding pets, birds, and fish. This will also prevent the emission of more than 340 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO₂e), one of the main greenhouse gases responsible for global warming.
With this process, we are helping to significantly reduce methane (CH₄) production. Additionally, we are generating a byproduct: a soil regenerator biostimulant that will be applied back to our growers’ fruit crops.

Reprocessing
At our production plants in Coronel and Coquimbo, we implement recovery strategies for the waste generated from operational activities. Sludge and flakes are used as raw materials in the fishmeal production process, as these wastes are highly recoverable due to their organic composition, rich in nutrients and proteins, making them a valuable resource for reuse in the production process.
In 2024, 85% of the sludge and flakes generated were destined for reprocessing.
Some Projects
Program 100+ Labs
We’ve joined the 100+ Labs innovation accelerator, a program created by AB InBev to foster the development of innovative solutions that address environmental and social challenges.
In the 2025 call for applications, we will participate alongside AB InBev, Coca-Cola Andina, and Embonor to identify startups with projects that have a positive impact on areas such as water management, energy efficiency, the circular economy, and smart logistics.
