Nutrisco signed a strategic alliance with Copec Flux to develop a photovoltaic project in Romeral, a development that will allow the company to incorporate renewable energy into its operations and strengthen its energy efficiency.
The solar panels are expected to become operational during the last quarter of 2026 and will supply nearly 29.38% of the energy consumed annually by the facility. This implementation represents the largest photovoltaic project within Nutrisco’s Agrifood business unit and aims to replace part of the traditional energy supply with clean generation, without reducing the operational consumption required by the production site.
Renewable energy for a more efficient operation
The initiative is part of Nutrisco’s Sustainability Model and seeks to integrate concrete solutions that contribute to a more efficient and responsible operation, aligned with the current challenges of the food industry, where sustainability, innovation and nutrition are part of an integrated business vision. In this regard, the use of renewable energy will support progress in reducing emissions associated with energy generation and consumption at the plant.
Nutrisco emphasized that this project reflects the importance of incorporating sustainability criteria into the company’s daily business management, especially in productive operations where continuity, efficiency and the responsible use of resources are key factors.
The alliance was led by Crescente Valle, Agrifood Business Manager at Nutrisco, and Juan Cristóbal González Holmes, General Manager of Copec Flux, consolidating a joint effort aimed at promoting more sustainable energy solutions for the operation.
With this project, Nutrisco continues to incorporate initiatives that contribute to a more responsible energy matrix, strengthening its commitment to operational efficiency, innovation and the reduction of environmental impact across its production processes.
